Anyone else go see it yet? It's been sold out solid here for the past 2 days, had to get my tickets Monday to make sure I got in today.
I personally loved it, and if the next showing after mine plus all the other showings up until 11 that night weren't already sold out, I would of turned right around and saw it again today. I felt it dragged and was slow at some parts, but overall it was fantastic, and I can't even begin to comprehend words to describe how amazingly awesome the last 25-30 minutes of the movie were.
On that note, I should also mention the movie has already been nominated for 4 Golden Globe awards:
Best Motion Picture Best Director Best Original Song Best Original Score

I overheard that the movie ripped off of some stuff in Magic: The Gathering like the Planes in Zendikar and Rise of the Eldrazi.
Also the area of Pandora is very similiar to Naya. Islaya care to comment on this?
lol, I thought the same thing watching it. The floating mountains reminded me a lot of the floating mountains in Zendikar, and yes, Pandora is a rain forest like planet full of odd plants and animals like Naya. I don't really think James Cameron ripped Magic off though, considering he wrote the screenplay in 1994 and first attempted to make the movie in 1998 right after he finished Titanic, long before Naya and Zendikar were even conceived by Wizards.

So basically Wizards of the Coast was ripping off of James Cameron without even knowing it and both coincidently had the same identical vision of both Movie and TCG expansion set.

Did you see the 3-d version; I heard some movie theatres had defective copies of the film and it looked effed up...I do want to see this movie though. I'm glad to hear it got good reviews.

So, James Cameron stated in a 2006 interview that if the project he was currently working on turned out to be a success (we now know that project to be Avatar) that he already had two sequels planned. So, an Avatar trilogy, thoughts?

Yeah. I heard that as well. I saw this movie in 3D yesterday and really liked it. I was surprised that I didn't get bored throughout the movie. Three hours is a long time to keep an audience entertained.
The only thing I didn't like about this movie was that James Cameron took a little too much from the Aboriginal Culture. The movie played out similar to a fantasized version of the war between Aboriginal people and the Europeans. Aside from the lack of originality in some places, I liked the movie a lot

The movie isn't "kind of Dances With Wolves in space". It is exactly that. Aside from the world that James Cameron created and the Avatars, the whole thing is basically a new rendition of Dances With Wolves. There is very little originality to the plot.
